It’s official.

People will actually pay good money for my homemade stuffed animals.  I donated the six best in a gift basket to my friend’s Shearing for Hearing event, and it went for 50$.  Pretty cool.  I feel…validated.  I’m going to figure out exactly how much the animals cost.  Then I might see about either renting some space in a local gift boutique, or maybe it’d be cheaper to actually start an Etsy site.  I don’t know.  I like making the animals, and it’s fun to try out new patterns.  We’ll see.  I’m still checking things out.

Shearing for Hearing was work, and it got hot, and I forgot the sunscreen, but it was fun.  The funds raised far exceeded estimations, so everyone was pleased.  Hard to believe my friend had never put together anything like that before.  She did an amazing job pulling it all together — especially when you consider her already busy schedule and the fact that she has six kids to take care of.  Supermom, indeed.

In other news…today is the first day of school.  BratzBasher left home armed with her “jacket of awesomeness” (despite the heat, she says it’s cold in the classrooms) and boots of awesomeness (which she only gets to wear on non-gym days) and her “Expendable” Ensign Red Shirt t-shirt.  I hope she has a good day — or at least not a crummy one.
