Okay — last month, Merkin and BratzBasher were driving through a parking lot and got t-boned by someone pulling forward out of a parking space. The other driver claimed Merkin was at fault. It took a month for her insurance company (cue lizard with Aussie accent) to finally issue a check.
The teenaged driver that hit Merkin and BB this month (see previous post) is also insured by the lizard company, and she’s also claiming that Merkin was at fault. Apparently, he ran a yellow light. Merkin says it was an early yellow, and he was too close to the intersection to stop for it, considering the rain and slick roads. Lesson? Never assume a driver (who has right of way) will stop for a yellow light. I know I never do. Assume, that is. I often stop for yellows when it’s the safe thing to do.
Anyway…it’ll probably be another month before we see a dime. I’d just like to know if I’m shopping for a new vehicle or fixing the old one. It’s not drivable as is. Meanwhile, I’ve got places to go…appointments to keep…jury duty starting next week…. This is so not convenient.
