This week is spring break for BratzBasher. She says it’s a very miserable spring break. Allergies and all that, you know. Messes with our evil plans when she’s not feeling 100%. Not that we have a lot of evil plans. We did go to the new library yesterday. Actually, it was an old library branch, but a new building. Does that make sense? Nevermind. Anyway…it was gargantuan. It even had a water feature: a giant granite ball with a hole in the top where the water came out and spilled down the side. I wanted to type “sides”, but a sphere only has one side. Well, I suppose there could be two if you count the inside, but the water wasn’t spilling down the inside — it was flowing up. Maybe I should have said that the water was spilling down the outside. That’s better.
Anyway…it was a gigantic library because it also houses the administration offices and the old senior living center on separate floors — plus some other stuff that I don’t know what it is, but maybe I’ll go on the day they have tours of the building so that I can find out. BB was especially impressed with how large the manga section is now. Not that they’ve filled it all out yet, but that will happen eventually. She checked out manga versions of four Shakespeare plays: Much Ado About Nothing, Macbeth, Hamlet, and The Tempest.
If I can get BB to finish her “cleaning out the underside of her bed” project today, we’ll go see a movie tomorrow morning. We’re thinking of seeing either Hunger Games or Mirror, Mirror. I found out just yesterday that Mirror, Mirror is based on a Gregory Maguire book — a retelling of Snow White. I liked the first in his Wicked series (the only one of that series that I’ve read) and Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister. I couldn’t get into Lost, though.
The other thing that we’ve done this week is take BB to the dentist. I think she views that as my evil plan, not hers. Oh, and we’ve also slept in every day. That’s been nice.
