I woke up with a swollen uvula today — you know, that dangly thing in the back of your throat? It was really weird. And painful. I hadn’t had a sore throat until I woke up this morning, so…weird that it happened out of the blue like that. I managed to get an appointment at the doctor’s today and got a prescription for a Z pack. I’m feeling a little better since I had a nap and started nursing a numbing lozenge. Still feels weird, though. The doctor said the swelling should go down within 24 hours or so. Seriously? That long? Weird.
In other news:
BratzBasher and I went to the mall today to count scary outfits. As hot as it is today, the scary outfit count was considerably low. BB did spot a butt cape, though. We also bought some new church shoes for BB and some completely unnecessary but very cute shoes for me.
We checked out the sale at Hot Topic, too, but didn’t see anything worth spending money on.
We stopped at the Dairy Queen in the mall to get treats. I ordered a french silk pie mini blizzard, but they were out of pie crust. The girl asked if she could give me pecans instead. Uh, YES. Love pecans — and I didn’t want to be a pain. The only time I’m a pain at eating establishments is if my food is undercooked. Unfortunately, in an attempt to make it up to me for the lack of pie crust, the girl made my mini blizzard too large for the cup and it overflowed before I could eat the top part. She made me a new one, but not before some of it dripped on my shirt. I’m sure it’ll come out. I’ve hit it with that spray ‘n wash stuff.
When BB and I got home, I saw a juvenile robin fly smack into our front window. It’s not even that clean — the window, that is. The little guy fell to the ground. He was obviously stunned because he was just sitting there right on his butt (as opposed to his feet) and looking about him as if he saw tiny birdies flying around his head. It was very funny.
