I worked a volunteer shift at the book fair today. I spent a few hours on my knees on a concrete floor, tallying up books and boxing them for the dealers. My arms were so sore — as if someone had surgically implanted bricks into my muscles. I borrowed BratzBasher’s knee pads. I have to buy her a new pair because I popped the grommets on one of them, and the plastic cap over the knee is loose on one side. The pads helped my knees a lot, but the straps started to cut into the backs of my knees. I was feeling pretty raw by the end of my shift. Tomorrow I’m scheduled to work as a cashier. My arms and knees will be very grateful.
Tomorrow is also the last day we’re sending BB to school. She has one more day on Monday, but it’s pretty much a throw-away day to make up for too many snow days this past winter. Tomorrow will be an outdoors-all-day event. She’s not looking forward to it, but she needs to go and turn in her tuba and music book that she borrowed from the band teacher. Plus, I need to pick up the giant bottle of tylenol that I left with the nurse at the beginning of the year. Traffic at the school has been a nightmare, so I’m planning on walking to pick her up. We live close enough. I hope I don’t get mistaken for a student again. That’s starting to get annoying.
BB goes off to Girls Camp on Tuesday. She’ll have a three-day weekend to get packed. How much of that do you suppose I’ll be doing Monday night? The girls are allowed to take a painter’s bucket to keep snacks in. BB has to hit hers in the center of the lid with her shoe in order to get it sealed shut. It’s very loud. I guess she won’t be having any late night snacks.
Okay, I’m too tired to blog anymore. Maybe tomorrow.
